Culture Con 2022 Counter Culture DIY’s inaugural Culture Con is making its debut in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the Fayetteville Town Center the weekend of March 25-26, 2022. Culture Con 2022 is aimed at mixed media artists that work with resin, acrylic pours, and chalk paint, whether they are beginners just getting started or professionals looking to take it to the next level. The two-day event will have a slew of classes and hands-on workshops from well-known resin artists to choose from. Attendees will build their own schedules and learn resin art, tumbler making, acrylic pouring, chalk-finish, and mixed media art techniques from celebrities of the DIY resin art world. For those looking for ways to turn their art into profit, there will also be opportunities to attend seminars about growing an art business from successful artist entrepreneurs who have been there, done that! In addition to the abundance of classes and workshops available to attendees, Counter Culture DIY (CCDIY) will have their products available for sale, showcasing the newest and best of what’s available in the resin art community, as well as offering optional exclusive premium classes that allow you to work side-by-side with artist instructors. Add-on classes this year include art journaling, a two-session party hosting class, and instruction in the Rick Cheadle faux batik method. All Culture Con attendees will also receive a merch bag chock full of goodies from CCDIY and sponsors of the event. For those that want a little something extra, Culture Con is hosting both a VIP Pre-Party and and After-Hours Freestyle Party. The Pre-Party will be held at Terra Studios the evening before the official start of the convention, on Thursday, March 24, with a special project class, DJs, complimentary food and drink, and free merchandise. The Freestyle Party takes place on Friday night after the first day of Culture Con, where all attendees are encouraged to craft and create into the night with their new artsy friends. Some notable panelists and artist workshop leaders include Sarah Brown (Owner, CCDIY), Shay Livenspargar (Mixed Media Artist), Bruce Jackson (Owner, Backfist Customs), Holli Mostella (Resin Artist, CCDIY), Stephanie Roberts (Owner, Art by Stephanie Roberts), Sara and Jason Lively (The Glitter Guy Supply Company), Kara Ivey (Kara Ivey Art), Kelley Norris (Owner, Dixie Darlins), Liza Vaughn (Mixed Media Artist), Meenal Raghava (Owner, Meenal’s Corner), Misty Leonard (Owner, MDLeonardDesigns), and Nikki Hamilton (Owner/Founder, The Steel Magnolia).
